In 2009, Jane and Stephen decided to develop their passion for gardening and embarked on a 9 year project to develop the 5 main borders that you see today. This has been done in conjunction with different members of the pottery and shop workforce, and a very valued volunteer.
Our Gardens flower from the middle of April through to September. We have carefully selected our choice of plants to maintain the vibrancy and longevity of our borders throughout the year. Our Hornbeam Walk is planted to give a new experience to the knowing eye every month. If bees and butterflies are your thing, make sure to come between July and August for a chance to see our rare Black Bumble Bee: ‘Bombus ruderatus.’
We are very proud to have had several articles written about our gardens. These fabulous articles were published in: Landscape Magazine, RHS The Garden Magazine, The Telegraph, Country Living Magazine, Cotswold Life and Gardens Illustrated.
Being featured on BBC’s Gardeners World back in the summer was also such a privilege and something we are also very proud of! We are feeling very grateful for all the exposure our gardens have had and we hope they bring our lovely customers as much joy as they give us. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bjj97d

Awards and Reviews:
In the last month the quality of the cakes have gone from very good to poor who ever is making them would appear to have lost there way. On today's visit Saturday in the female toilet. one door was off its hinge's plus one toilet not flushing. The sign says best cafe in Oxfordshire. not now.
Love coming here with my family. We enjoy a look round the shop and then a cake for a treat. The food is beautiful especially the cakes. Afternoon tea is also beautiful and brilliant value for money.
Lovely spot for a mooch amongst all the lovely things with a 1st class cafe 🙂
Paul, my husband, and I go very regularly for lunch or tea. We love the atmosphere. The shop is very tempting - great for presents. The gardens are really beautiful with gorgeous displays of colourful flowers. My husband and daughter take brilliant photographs of the flower beds. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly recommend.
In the restaurant the Cakes are beautiful - melt in the mouth. Lunch really enjoyable, but be warned very filling - problem is they are so enjoyable you are unable to leave any - well in my opinion anyway. We were recommended by friends and have now recommended to lots of others. Pottery isn't bad either !!!!
Afternoon Tea was delicious. Variety of sandwiches, scones, and gorgeous cakes. It's a must.
It just gets better here, wonderful food especially cakes, excellent gifts and amazing Christmas displays. The new gift section upstairs is brilliant and it is such a lovely experience visiting you leave feeling relaxed and calm.
Lovely hand-crafted products in the shop and a brilliant cafe. Shopping and cake combined, what more can you ask for?!

Loved coming here and quickly became my salvation for food and chat. Food is good, especially loved the steak pie, (in red wine sauce). Also loved chatting with the staff who were engaging, friendly and superb.
Very beautiful gardens. Good quality plants on sale at reasonable prices. Restaurant serves good food. Not cheap but well presented. Gift shop very expensive for those on tight budgets. Would do well to offer some small items at reasonable prices by
