In 2009, Jane and Stephen embarked on a project, now is into its fourteenth year, to develop their passion for gardening, creating the seven main borders you see today. These are maintained and continually developed by Stephen and Kian, with support from members of the pottery team and our dedicated garden volunteers.
The gardens are in bloom from June through to October. Each planting scheme has been carefully chosen to ensure vibrancy and longevity throughout the summer months. The Hornbeam Walk is designed to reward the observant visitor with a fresh perspective each month. For those with an interest in wildlife, July and August offer the best opportunity to spot the rare Black Bumblebee (Bombus ruderatus), alongside many other pollinators.
Our garden borders are free to visit and offer a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the spectacular summer displays alongside a trip to the café and gift shop.
We were pleased to appear on BBC’s Gardeners’ World in September 2018 and again in May 2024. We are truly grateful for the recognition our gardens have received and hope they bring as much joy to our visitors as they do to us.
We’re also delighted that our gardens have been featured in several respected publications, including Landscape Magazine, RHS The Garden Magazine, The Telegraph, Country Living, Cotswold Life, and Gardens Illustrated.
